Night.

In exploration of the space that my work finds itself, between photography and painting, I decided to create multi-layered soft pastel paintings. I’m interested in seeing how imagery made directly by hand as opposed to mediated by a mechanism can work alongside each other to reflect the essence of the places I study. This opposition opens up questions around ways of seeing. My photographs require the mid-day sun as collaborator. These pastel paintings are created late at night in my studio—a space where the internal and emotional expression can come forth. (2025—ongoing)
