Working with the same imagery from my Silence. project, I wondered what the effect would be if I stripped the color down as far as it could go based on the original photo paper colors. I was firm in wanting the work remain true to the original color of the inverted paper negative, but through diving into digital and printing processes more, I’ve come to see the potential in shifting my perspective. It was an inner battle—which also touches upon the faux / real that I’ve been exploring in other projects. What happens when an authentically made analog photograph undergoes digital manipulation and does it matter anymore? The veil is still present, but in an ethereal way. (2025—ongoing)
